Joe at Scripps Ranch Security was great. I had estimates from several alarm companies to upgrade our old alarm system to a newer “Smart Home” system. Scripps Ranch Security was the only one not to try and upsell us things we didn’t need, and the cost to bring our system up to modern standards and monthly monitoring was lower than everyone else. Really happy.

In short order, they were able to install a wireless system to get us fully functional and protected! I am someone who puts a lot of weight on working with someone who is honest. We were solicited by several alarm companies after moving into a new home that was newly built. Joe was fantastic. Not only was he patient, knowledgeable, and available, he explains everything in a great deal of detail. Being the type of person who likes the knitty gritty, I appreciated this.

He is not selling you a cookie cutter system and isn’t looking to make money on the subscription. It is obvious that he takes a lot of pride in his work and genuinely enjoys providing piece of mind to his customers.

We had a lot of large windows and chose to get both glass break sensors as well as motion sensors. Joe explained there was some redundancy but he customized our system to give us exactly what we wanted. We explored the option of home automation with him (lights/blinds), but he correctly advised us to do that separately from the alarm.

I was told by multiple friends that a certain large security company would be at least $3,000 to start and to be prepared for high pressure sales tactics to increase my costs. No thanks.

After looking at reviews on Yelp and speaking to two of my neighbors who have SR Security, I gave Joe a call. After walking around the entire house, he listened to my concerns and didn’t try to sell me something I don’t need. A week later I have a new security system that is very user-friendly and didn’t break my budget. Joe even removed and hauled away the existing out-of-date system, including keypads, motion detectors and a ridiculously large hub that took up a good portion of my coat closet. The entire process took less than 4 hours and I couldn’t be happier.

I’ve been doing a lot of repairs on my house and it’s incredibly rare to find someone as nice, polite and easy to work with as Joe. I was impressed enough that I immediately called my sister and told her to hire him to install her system asap!

Joe installed our security system almost six months ago. We couldn’t be happier. He is honest, very reasonable prices and takes time to explain the system. Scripps Ranch Security was the 3rd company we had out to talk to about a security system for our new house. We got really bad vibes from the first two, but Joe at SR Security could not have made us feel more comfortable. He was personable, listened to our needs/wants, and recommended the system that checked all our boxes while also staying within budget. Called this company based on reviews from other people to install cameras in my home. Spoke with Joe who was awesome! After discussing my current system he determined that he couldn’t tie his system in to my existing system. After telling me this he spent a significant amount of time going over pros and cons of what I wanted to do. What an honest and great guy…probably am not going to use because I can’t but highly recommend this company and Joe!

For the past 20 years, I’ve had my home alarm monitoring provided by 2 of the bigger alarm companies (you know who they are…. A.. and P…_) but recently switched to Scripps Ranch Security. The cost is so much more affordable and the customer service can’t be beat.

Joe tested all my equipment, set up the new burglary and fire monitoring and reduced my annual fee (all in under an hour). Yea! Can’t beat that with a stick. (FYI, one of the “big companies that start with an A” failed to test my equipment for an entire year when I discovered that my phone signal was not properly being sent/received. That is an example of bad customer service.) SR Security will be doing regular tests of the alarm and signal. That is an example of GOOD customer service.

Also, I explained that some family members have a hard time remembering the code, so he is going to install a device that allows them to arm and disarm with a remote control device. There is absolutely no hard sell, just recommendations based on my needs.

I give this company a 5 star rating and recommend them to all my friends in the Scripps Ranch and Poway area.

When we decided to get a home security system we met with Joe and also a competitor from one of the big companies. After meeting with both of them my wife and I agreed that we would go with Scripps Ranch. This decision was largely based on Joe and his personality. He is simply a good and honest guy and that goes a long way with me. We’ve had the system for a while now and have been very pleased.
